APPAREL & ACCESSORIES FAQ:

Q.  How we make our Apparel?
Designed in Los Angeles by the HELM Supplies creative team having extensive knowledge & experience in the apparel industry, all items are made custom cut & sew using high-quality materials and production techniques.  Our fabrics are carefully selected for their softness, durability, and versatility, making them perfect for everyday wear.  We believe that fashion should be accessible to everyone, without compromise on style or quality.

Q.  What size should I get?
Our apparel is made with a relaxed and comfortable fit in mind. We wanted a classic look that is not too oversized nor too restricting.  Something that can be worn throughout all seasons and years to come.   We recommend getting your normal size, but some products may have specific sizing instructions so please check out the product descriptions.  *Currently our Hoodies and Crewneck sweatshirts run one size bigger, so we recommend getting one size down from your normal size.  (example if your a Large normaly, get a Medium)

Q.  What is so special about Combed Cotton?
Carefully harvested and cleaned, first the cotton is carded to separate individual fibers and then aligned to face the same direction.  Then a fine-combing process brushes out impurities and shorter strands, so the remaining cotton fibers are the longest, most even, and straightest ones.  Producing a much softer & smoother, stronger & abrasion-resistant, breathable (cool in the Summer, warm in the winter), higher-quality fabric.

SURFBOARD FAQ:

Q.  Who is the shaper?
Clyde Beatty Jr: Master shaper, board-building veteran, and former professional surfer.  Clyde has extensive knowledge in all aspects of board building, refining his craftsmanship since the 60's.  Designed by HELM Supplies, we are honored to work with Clyde and his team of experts.

Q.  Why choose our hybrid surfboards?
Getting dings/cracks and having to repair your board all the time? Removing dirty wax getting old? Hit in the face by your board no fun?

HELM Supplies - 3E Tech Hybrid Construction. (EPS-EPOXY-EVA)
***NO WAX, NO MESS, NO WORRIES.

Constructed the same way as a traditional glassed surfboard for optimal performance and familiar feel, we've taken the process one step further by wrapping a soft durable EVA layer to the deck + rails.  This hybrid construction adds many benefits, wax-free traction keeps your board clean, adds durability to dings/cracks, protection to the rider (& others) from impact, while still performing as well as any surfboard in the market, if not better.  Created with the intent to have maximum fun in any condition, an all-purpose, carefree board built to enjoy the journey.

Q.  Do you need wax?
Our surfboards have a textured soft EVA (rubber-like foam) top.  Once the board hits the water, it is grippy enough to use without wax.  However, if you'd like to have added traction you can definitely apply normal surfboard wax.

Q.  Are fins included?
Fins are not included with surfboard orders.
We focused on creating one of the best-performing hybrid surfboards in the market using custom high-quality materials.  Therefore we did not want to include the standard lower-quality fins, as we recommend using good-quality fins for optimal performance.

Q.  What fins do you recommend?
All our boards use Authentic FCS II fin box systems, so we recommend FCS II brand fins to get the best fit and convenience of the no-tool fin system. Twin tab fins are also compatible, you will just need to screw them in.  Other Fin companies such as True Ames, Captain Fin, and NVS Fins offer top quality selection as well, just be sure to chose the Twin tab fins.  As fins can vary depending on personal preference, we leave it up to the customer to choose their fin based on size, and style, but feel free to email us if you are unsure for specific recomendations.

Q.  Surfboard construction/care?
Although our hybrid construction is very durable, please remember the core is constructed as a glassed board and will break like a normal board.  If you treat the boards with care, the boards will have better longevity and provide you with more waves and stoke.

Q.  Surfboard repair?
For any dings or punctures through the board that exposes foam or allows water to penetrate through the glassing, use sandpaper and epoxy surfboard resin to ensure the ding is sealed from water, adheres to the board, and is sanded for a smooth finish. Consult your local ding repair shop.

Q.  What materials are used for our surfboards?
All our materials are sourced from industry top quality vendors or custom created to match high quality standards:
