Carefully harvested and cleaned, first the cotton is carded to separate individual fibers and then aligned to face the same direction.  Then a fine-combing process brushes out impurities and shorter strands, so the remaining cotton fibers are the longest, most even, and straightest ones.  Producing a much softer & smoother, stronger & abrasion-resistant, breathable, higher-quality fabric.
